I’m quite keen on rockabilly/vintage events, which you may have picked up from some of the style and events posts so far under the Fork My Life section of this site, so I was excited to see a new monthly event pop onto the scene in the form of The 2 Rs thanks to the Freddies of Pinewood team.

Koko Kanu’s Frequent Flyers Cocktail Club – London
Welcome to the Koko Kanu Frequent Flyer’s Cocktail Club! Inspired by the era of jet-set travel, this Summer we have Koko Kanu inviting Londoners and travel fans on a delicious journey to 6 wonderous bars throughout July. If you aren’t sure who Koko Kanu are… well, they’re the UK’s leading white rum blended with coconut flavour (a nice 37.5%) so really you should know who these guys are. Nip down to your local supermarket and peruse their wares.
So what is this Frequent Flyer’s Cocktail Club? What does it all mean? Well keep on reading and you’ll find out!
Gaza Cafe – Soho, London
Hungry. In Soho. Not sure what to eat as I fancy something new…that’s when I stumbled upon Gaza Cafe completely by accident, and was drawn over to the window by a picture of a rice burger. Rice burger? Say whaaaaat…. Although effectively this is a standard rice dish shaped like a burger, it appealed more! Intrigued, we went in.
Don Juan in Soho – Wyndham’s Theatre, London
“Happy Christmas!” I said to my chap, as he unwrapped a witty card that told him I’d bought us two tickets to see David Tennant in Patrick Marber’s Don Juan of Soho. Admittedly, this was also a present for me, as David Tennant is one of our relationship celebrity loves and I’d timed it for the day after my 30th birthday – to soften the blow of aging somewhat.
HipChips – Soho, London
Last weekend I found myself with pal Goldy Loxx/Anna in Soho, looking for something to put in our mouths. That sounds weird. BUT IT WAS TRUE. We weren’t sure what we fancied and I had walked past HipChips several times in the past and assumed it would be long gone as a pop up but here it was, still serving. So we went in.
Timberyard – Seven Dials, London
Salutations, welcome to the Timberyard! And no, there aren’t a lot of lumberjacks here, it’s a ruddy coffee shop thing! Ho ho ho…
This place is another that I’d tried to get in once before and failed because it was too gosh darned popular! A mac user heaven, the computers nearly outnumber the people in here. It makes me envious but not because I’m not an Apple girl.
