Crispin E1, Fallow Restaurant Team Residency (7 Jan-7 March 2020) – Spitalfields, London

Howdy partners! A quickish post from me today to recommend a place I went to this week called Crispin, which is currently having a delicious 2 month chef residency from Jack Croft & Will Murray of Fallow.  I was lured into booking a table here because both chefs previously worked together at the Heston Blumenthal restaurant Dinner…. I was treated to a birthday meal there once and it was pretty fookin’ delicious so I knew this residency would be a right treat and I wasn’t wrong.

Fish Market – Liverpool Street, London

Welcome to Wednesday, dear friends! Halfway through the week, we can make it! We’re also at the end of June and I can hear you wondering what I’ve done with my month so far..well.. a couple of weeks back I ate at Fish Market and had a catch up with one of my best friends Lianne. We love a bargain and so booked for the £16.50 set menu which covered 2 courses. We both wanted to eat relatively healthily and on a budget so this seemed ideal and the restaurant isn’t far from Liverpool Street – we both work pretty close by.

Chicken Bar – Port Olimpic, Barcelona

A very good afternoon to you all! I’ve just got back from a weekend away in Barcelona with a fabulous group of women and thought I would write a post about one of the places we ate while we were there.

We’d just finished a really relaxing cruise on a BBQ catamaran and needed some nibbles and cocktails before we headed back to our apartment. Conveniently placed at the end of the pier was Chicken Bar.  We’d seen the menu online and were lured in by the cheap cocktails and the menu looked pretty safe.

Barsmith Tiki Pop Up – Farringdon, London

Good day to you all! Some of you may know that I’m a fan of 50s style, including Tiki fashion, so when I saw there was an exciting looking Tiki pop up at Barsmith in Farringdon it set my joy alarm off!

So what is it? Well Barsmith have decked out their establishment as a Tiki bar, with carved Tiki heads imported from the South Pacific, a bamboo bar set up, tropical flowers all over the place and a new Tiki styled menu. They’ve brought in some cocktails such as the classic Zombie and Navy Grog to name a couple to sip on while admiring the authentic décor.

Naked – Cold Pressed Juices

Another day, another supposed health food drink…

I recently received another mysterious package, this time a neon orange cool bag delivered straight to my desk… how exciting… or so I thought until I opened it to find some cold pressed juices. To be fair I am not the health freak fad dieter key demographic of these juices so I was bound to be underwhelmed. Still, I thought I’d give them a shot, pressed fruit and vegetable juice can’t do me any harm.

Teapigs – Matcha Drinks

Just before Christmas I arrived home to find one of those “sorry we missed you” cards from Royal Mail on my mat. Assuming this was a festive gift from a mysterious admirer (obviously). I got up early the following day to get to the post office before work on the last Friday before Christmas. After queuing up I had to convince the lady to give me the package as the name on my ID (unsurprisingly) does not read “Fork My Piehole”  (she was giving me a knowing smirk during this exchange but I decided not to ruin the illusion by telling her that it is the name of our blog, not whatever less savoury thing she had in mind).
