Atomic Vintage Festival – Sywell, England

What ho! It’s 2018 and that means a whole new year of events are afoot! A highlight of 2017 for me was Atomic Vintage Festival and with 2018’s yearly dose of Atomic coming up in July, I thought you needed to know the haps and why you need to be there!

Please Don’t Tell – East Village, New York City

Last Winter, Fork My Piehole took a trip to the concrete jungle that is New York City.  We’ve both been to NYC before but, as we’d already done most of the touristy bits, this time we had the pure aim of consuming as many goodies as we possibly could.  We’d heard of Please Don’t Tell from friends and online and it was a definite ‘need to visit’ on our list.

We’d tried the previous day with no joy – we did call a bit later (you have to call when they open at 3pm), so learned our lesson and set an alarm to remind us to book – and having limited time in NYC this was our last chance! Luckily we got through and booked a table. So, as it would make sense, we made our way to the East Village for our slot at 9pm.

Evans & Peel vs Old Forester Bourbon

December! That means Christmas! It also means Repeal Day – dost ye know what that is? No? Well let me tell you with the help of Evans & Peel and Old Forester bourbon who have teamed up to bring you a bespoke cocktail – The Executioner! *trembles in boots*

So, Repeal Day is the day Prohibition ended in the United States in 1933 and therefore, being a speakeasy and all, Evans & Peel are the perfect partner to snuggle up to. This literal underground bar is nestled unassumingly in a street less than 10 minutes from Earl’s Court tube and I couldn’t wait to see what it was all about!
