Atomic Vintage Festival – Sywell, England

What ho! It’s 2018 and that means a whole new year of events are afoot! A highlight of 2017 for me was Atomic Vintage Festival and with 2018’s yearly dose of Atomic coming up in July, I thought you needed to know the haps and why you need to be there!

So, held on an airfield about 20 minutes north of Northampton the Atomic Vintage Festival pops up every Summer to provide a fun-filled weekend of dancing, planes, drag racing (not the RuPaul sort, well.. maybe), funfair rides, bands, shopping and more! I attended in 2016 and took part in the fashion show as well as working promo as an Atomic Bombshell, but 2017 well and truly took the biscuit.

The Apprentice – Ross Fretten Watch: Episodic Breakdowns

Following up from my pre-Apprentice excitement post about long time pal of mine and now Apprentice candidate, Ross Fretten, I’ve decided I’m simply still too excited to not write more about his Apprentice journey. Therefore, I’ve created this! ROSS WATCH. I’ll be providing a few notes and snaps of each episode (from my TV, I am a professional) as it goes just to sate my need to type.

Of course, for updates from the man himself, follow his Twitter and Facebook page – tags at the end of this post. I’m not going to write out the whole episodes but there will be some *spoilers*.

Upcoming: Magic Roundabout Winter Launch

The oh so East London drinking and dining den Magic Roundabout, which resides in the middle of Old Street roundabout is coming back for Winter!

They’ve tented it, heated it, and revamped it with a new old school theme. The new venue will take you back through the decades, with areas decked out in homage to the 60s, 70s, 80s and (our personal favourite) the 90s.  The new themed areas include a Woodstock with some serious flower power and tribute to the late, great (in some opinions) Hugh Heffner with a super sexy 1970s Playboy lounge, complete with sheepskins and log fire. The Main Bar will be an all out 80s disco with futuristic art and palm trees and finally, the VIP Area will take you right back to the early 90s; oh the patterns, oh the Fresh Prince colours! Hopefully Big Willy himself will make an appearance… (ok, maybe not but let a girl dream!)

The Apprentice 2017 – Ross Fretten

Hello all! A slightly strange post from me today as although I mentioned the female casting made in Doctor Who, I’m not looking to cover TV in a big way on here. But then it is my blog so I can make special exceptions! And here is one of them…this year’s season of The Apprentice (UK).

Why? Why is this special and being posted about? Well, a long time friend of mine, Ross Fretten, is a candidate so I will be definitely tuning in every Wednesday and rooting for him!

Victoria Park Market – East London

Glory praise, be! A ‘farmers market’ has landed in Victoria Park!

Being a local to the area, I thought this was great – bop along every Sunday and pick up some produce but my, my I was so surprised when I visited! There is SO much more than just produce on offer. There was a band, tons of street food stands to grab lunch or brekkie while you’re there…donuts, cookies, cured meats… this market literally has it all if you’re after something edible.

The 13th Doctor – Jodie Whittaker

I know, this isn’t a physical event…but it is an event for the WORLD!! Or maybe not, but if you’re a Doctor Who fan then yesterday will have been a big day for you, as the successor to Peter Capaldi’s Doctor was revealed.  Unhelpfully timed as an announcement for after the men’s Wimbledon final (just give us a bloomin’ time on the clock not some mystical “oh when the tennis is done” malarky), Whovians were glued to their TVs anticipating the reveal.

Pegasus’ Gods and Monsters Show – Kings Cross, London

I’d like to take this opportunity to promote one of my favourite urban artists, Camden based Pegasus.  Fear not, non Londoners, he is frequently in LA and does travel around the world from time to time. This talented gentleman regularly produces brilliant street art based on public figures and it was a pleasure to go along to his gallery party last year near King’s Cross.
