Since lockdown due to COVID-19 there has been a plethora of meal kits created by restaurants. Many have complicated instructions, short shelf life and large price tags that leave customers longing for restaurants to be back open again.
Ping Pong has set themselves apart from the majority by providing customers with handmade restaurant products at affordable prices, created by their chefs and ready to cook at home as soon as they arrive. Meaning customers can have their favourite Ping Pong dim sum in just over a minute if using a microwave or 5 if using a traditional steaming basket.
What is more, Ping Pong have continued their Steam at Home boxes even after their restaurants reopened post-lockdown, as Ping Pong see the value of customers across the UK being able to enjoy their product and have their sights set on breaking into the retail sphere.
They are currently retailing 15 of their most popular dim sum including Traditional Prawn Har Gau, Char Sui Buns, Crispy Duck Spring Roll and Shanghai Chilli Wonton with Spinach & Mushroom. They have a selection of Gluten Free, Vegan and Vegetarian options. Dumplings and spring rolls are sold as portions of six and retail between £5.34 and £6.42.

I was lucky to try an array of dumplings, bun and sticky rice which I cooked in a bamboo steaming basket – my first time using one of these! It was super easy to use and I really liked that there were the six dumplings in a pack. It definitely feels like great value at just under £1 a dumpling on average!
Everything I tried was delicious and my full order list was: Chicken and cashew nut dumplings, duck spring rolls (6 per pack), prawn and chive dumplings (6 per pack), traditional prawn har gau (6 per pack), prawn and scallop sticky rice (3 in a pack), char sui bun (4 in a pack). We split each pack/box in two and and that sorted us out for a two person dinner. I’m really looking forward to having the rest tomorrow!
