I’m quite keen on rockabilly/vintage events, which you may have picked up from some of the style and events posts so far under the Fork My Life section of this site, so I was excited to see a new monthly event pop onto the scene in the form of The 2 Rs thanks to the Freddies of Pinewood team.
Taking place on the first Saturday of every month, The 2 Rs is aiming to provide us with some afternoon delight in the form of rock n roll, dancing and drinking from 3pm to 7pm at Freedom Bar, Soho and for only a £5 entry fee. Bonus points to the hosts, the jean-ius team that are Freddies of Pinewood (I hope you enjoy the pun as this lot produce much denim based repro finery) have also sorted us a happy hour on select drinks for the whole afternoon! I love cheap! Yay!
Anyone is welcome and if you don’t know how to jive then just grab someone to throw you around and try not to fall over. That’s what I try and do anyway…a short example of me and a mischievous Brian (Pyramid Clicks) is here —-> thanks Helen for the vidi.
As you can see from my little jig, I went along to the first Saturday event wearing my staple Freddie’s of Pinewood troos (the Lana cropped jeans) and you can see some pics below…I had a great time and got far more tiddly than expected thanks to the happy hour and pornstar martinis at £5.50 a pop! Upstairs pretty much the whole cocktail menu is on 241, amazing! Some fab choons were on, a lovely friendly crowd and a chance to dance but get home at a reasonable hour …or continue on if you wish!
